A Special Message from the CEO: TCA Strives to Be Financial Resource Amid COVID-19 Crisis
I hope you are staying healthy and safe. Above everything else, that is our primary concern.
The COVID-19 crisis will continue to have widespread implications unlike anything we have faced in this lifetime. A recession is on the horizon and many families are already feeling the financial fallout. We are doing everything we can to ensure Americans have access to critical resources that can lessen their financial hardships.
As a starting point, we are compiling information you need to make informed financial decisions and seek relief from creditors or loan servicers. These resource pages are being updated on a regular basis:
- COVID-19 Information and Resources: In a rapidly evolving situation, we offer guidance with credit, debt management, budgeting and household essentials.
- COVID-19 Student Loan Resources: As the government enacts relief programs, we are staying up to date with application and loan servicer processes.
We are working closely with credit card companies, industry associations and fellow credit counseling leaders to develop new ways for you to get the help you need. We will keep you informed of our progress.
In the meantime, we encourage you to reach out to your creditors if you are experiencing financial hardships that impact your ability to pay your bills on time. Each creditor has different policies in place, and some offer more flexibility than others. The National Foundation for Credit Counseling has compiled the appropriate contact information for major creditors. Additionally, if you need to adjust any upcoming payments for your Debt Management Plan, please visit MyTCA.org.

To ensure you receive the best possible guidance, we want you to know we are taking extra steps to help our counselors stay healthy and safe. We quickly and effectively transitioned to a remote workforce, we’re following the preventative measures recommended by the CDC, and we vow to proactively support any employees who experience medical issues related to the virus. We greatly value our incredible team, and their safety is of utmost importance.
We know this uncertain time is unsettling, and we will continue to serve as a financial resource to help you through it.
