Founded in 1987, Take Charge America, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to providing financial education and counseling to improve the lives of individuals and families nationwide.

Corporate Officers

David Richardson – CPA, Chief Executive Officer

David Richardson joined Take Charge America in 2008 as Director of Finance and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2009. In 2012, he was appointed to Chief Executive Officer and now oversees all agency operations.

Carol Lown – Vice President/Chief Compliance and Communications Officer

Carol Lown joined Take Charge America in 1999. She oversees compliance, communications, education and outreach programs, and marketing and public relations efforts.

Wendy Anderson– Corporate Secretary/Director of Compliance and Quality Assurance

Wendy directs and manages regulatory compliance activities including state licensing applications and reporting, regulatory examinations, and dissemination of applicable statutory requirements for bankruptcy, credit counseling, housing counseling and student loan counseling services.
