TAKE CHARGE AMERICA PARTNERS WITH ARIZONA PBS STATIONS TO OFFER VIEWERS FREE FINANCIAL ADVICE
Consumers in Phoenix and Tucson Areas Encouraged to Call in During March 25 Segment; TCA Chief Executive to Participate in Panel of Financial Experts
PHOENIX – (March 11, 2009) – Take Charge America, Inc., a non-profit financial education, credit counseling and debt management agency, will offer Arizona PBS viewers free financial advice on March 25 from 6:30 to 7 p.m.
“Ask a Financial Counselor” will air on the Phoenix PBS affiliate, KAET Channel 8, as well as the Tucson affiliate, KUAT Channel 6. Consumers seeking advice can call (888) 329-7088 during the segment. Once aired, the program will be available to online viewers at KAET’s Web site, www.azpbs.org.
Sixteen certified credit counselors from Phoenix-based Take Charge America will take calls during the segment while an expert panel discusses financial challenges affecting viewers, such as unemployment, housing and unsecured credit card debt. Take Charge America Chief Executive John Fisher will serve on the panel, in addition to Jennifer Quillin, assistant director of Arizona Saves, and Michael Staten, director of the Take Charge America Institute (TCAI) at the University of Arizona.
“Educating consumers is one of our primary goals at Take Charge America,” said Fisher. “This partnership with Channel 8 will allow us to reach even more people and provide them with financial knowledge and educational resources that are urgently needed in these tough economic times.”
The partnership between Take Charge America and KAET was developed with financial assistance from JP Morgan Chase Bank.
