Credit Counselor Certification
All of TCA's counselors go through an extensive
training program that prepares them to help consumers' live a healthy
financial lifestyle.
The counselors at Take Charge America receive their certification
through The Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education
(AFCPE). AFCPE is a non-profit professional organization created to
promote the education and training of the professional in financial
management.
Take
Charge America's counselors receive certification as Accredited Credit
Counselors from AFCPE. Certified individuals must meet education,
experience, and ethical requirements.
Our counselors complete additional training in personal finance and counseling skills throughout their employment at Take Charge America to constantly update and improve their skills.
Each
counselor must pass the certification exam with a 70% proficiency
level. In addition, continuing education is required to maintain the
certificate.
