Financial Education in Action
Our community outreach is rooted in our mission of providing financial education to individuals and families. At Take Charge America, we are always looking for ways to reach new people, offer support and resources, and develop innovative programs to benefit our community as a whole. Educational programming throughout Arizona includes:
Financial Literacy and Life Skills Educational Program
Developed for at-risk youth at Title I schools and children aging out of the foster care system, our Financial Literacy and Life Skills Education Program includes a series of fun and interactive sessions that empower youth with knowledge, tools and resources needed to gain confidence as they enter adulthood, venture into the workforce and pursue financial security.
Financial Empowerment and Credit Confidence Series
Designed for women who are seeking independence and stability following difficult circumstances, the Financial Empowerment and Credit Counseling Series provides a foundation for a secure financial future, including guidance on budgeting, money management and savings.
Financial Lesson Plans for Teachers
Teaching personal finance skills at an early age means fewer problems with debt and credit later in life. We have developed lesson plans for teachers to use with their students from grades one through five that provide a fun, well-rounded experience in learning personal finance.
Improving Financial Literacy in School
At school systems throughout Maricopa and Pima Counties, Take Charge America educates staff and students about money management issues that affect their everyday lives, including repayment options and strategies to tackle student loan debt — one of the country’s most pressing personal financial crises.
