John Fisher

Chief Executive Officer

John Fisher has served as the chief executive officer for Take Charge America (TCA) since 2008. He oversees all operations and strategic processes of the non-profit organization, which has helped more than 1.5 million consumers nationwide manage their finances and repay $4 billion in personal debts.

Fisher joined the organization in 2003 as senior vice president and director of business development. He was responsible for developing partnerships with professional and financial organizations such as creditors, employers and credit unions. Prior to that, he served six years on the organization’s board of directors as a volunteer member, assisting numerous committees including education and business development.

Fisher has more than 25 years of experience in the leasing and finance industries. Prior to joining TCA, he held positions with U.S. Leasing, AT&T Capital, Heller Public Finance and La Salle Bank. In addition, he served as a board member and officer of the Association for Governmental Leasing and Finance, acting as chairman for the national association from 1998 to 1999.

Fisher currently serves as a trustee on the board of trustees and officers for the Association of Independent Consumer Credit Counseling Agencies, a national membership organization established to promote quality and consistent delivery of credit counseling services, of which TCA is an active member. He is also active in several sector-wide counseling and education initiatives to bring new and better financial solutions to consumers.

Fisher earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Illinois, where he remains involved with the alumni chapter of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He continued his education at the University of Chicago, where he received a master’s in business administration.
